What reviewers liked
The FCM11PHWW also has an external dial temperature control (as you’d find on a fridge), leveling legs for uneven flooring, and three lift-out, sliding bulk-storage baskets.
Has 3 sliding baskets that lift out for easy cleaning, and bright interior light so you can always find what you need. Garners praise for its practical mid-range size and affordable price.
The GE doesn’t have a proprietary system for building its freezer walls, but they’re thick and maintain the unit’s lowest temperature of -5° quite well.
Though it’s medium in size, it’s Energy Star qualified, meaning it runs efficiently and won’t send your electric bill skyrocketing.
It features an exterior power on light and temperature control, an interior light, a child-safe keyed door lock, and a defrost water drain.
This model is a standard mid-sized chest freezer with clear temperature controls and an indicator light right on the front, so checking and adjusting your freezer takes no time at all.
There is also the easy-to-access front-mount mechanical thermostat which allows you too easily and quickly program the unit to the desired temperature required.
The freezers walls are thick and can maintain the lowest temperature of -5 degrees.
It has three removable storage baskets and is energy star certified with an estimated annual electricity consumption of 218 kWh/year.
What reviewers didn't like
Some people may find the manual defrost system to be a hassle, but all chest freezers need to be manually defrosted.
Power cord is on the short side, and no handle means the door is somewhat awkward to open. Not as spacious as some upright models, but suitable for most users.
Weak warranty
Frost builds up around the lid
Depending on your budget, its price may seem like too much to pay for a freezer that supplements your standing refrigerator.
