Sometimes it’s fascinating to get a peak inside how the other half lives.
Take a look at this private airport terminal opening up at Los Angeles International Airport later this month, for instance. This VIP experience is for first-class travelers, who must be willing to fork over thousands of dollars to access the private terminal.
This new terminal, called “The Private Suite,” opens May 15. And it comes with a hefty price.
Guests can pay $2,000 per visit for access to private check-in, security screening and customs process. They will be drive to their airplane in a private BMW and don’t have to lift a finger when it comes to their luggage. Of course, $2,000 only gets them access to a large, shared luxury waiting area. For guests who want their own private lounge, it’s $4,000 per use.
Another option is to pay $7,500 a year for a membership to the private terminale, which gets guests reduced per-use rates for the space.
Here’s the pitch from the creators of this VIP terminal (it’s pretty poetic): “Because depending upon the time of day, the season, the weather, and traffic delays on the ground or in the air, excursions through LAX can be stressful and unpredictable. It typically takes 2200 footsteps from car seat to plane seat. For members of The Private Suite, it’s 70 footsteps. And they are all peaceful footsteps.”

The terminal’s hospitality team is lead by Vikram Sood, who used to work at Four Seasons and The Ritz Carlton.
No Paparazzi
Of course it makes sense for this private terminal to be built at LAX, where dozens of celebrities fly in and out of everyday. The makers of The Private Suite promise that guests won’t see the paparazzi during their visit.
