Unfamiliar with the LuLaRoe craze? The brand is sold by a network of “consultants” who sell the clothes online and at pop-up parties. You’ve probably got a friend, or a friend of a friend, who is an independent consultant and sells them on Facebook or Periscope.
Customers, for the most part, gush about how the dresses, T-shirts and leggings are comfy and cute. They also like the thrill of the hunt to find limited-edition prints, which have become known as “unicorns” because of their elusiveness. (And, the prints might be actual unicorns. Or funky, colorful geometric prints. Or cats.)
